3rd Interlude

This isn’t what you expected death to feel like. There is no warmth of the Silver Flame’s glow, no sense of peace. There is only cold….and hunger. Immense hunger. Hunger like you’ve never felt before.

You open your eyes and your gaze meets that of a suprised goblin looter. Your ferocious attack brings down the creature immediately, but your attack continues. It’s not for several seconds that you realize you haven’t been attacking with your weapons, but you hands and teeth. The taste of the goblin flesh is better than any food you can remember. It takes almost a minute for you to tear yourself away from your feeding. As you look at you bloodied hands (now twisted into claws) and the horror of what you’ve just done dawns on you, the sounds of battle once again register in your mind.

The battle below is still raging, but appears to be three sided now. There are several dead clan horses near the camp’s main entrance, but the dead of the clan attackers have also risen and are attacking their fellows as well as the remaining goblinoids.

Paige Nalis’ voice rings out, imploring the Silver Flame for protection and 2 of the undead turn to dust in front of her. She looks up at the ledge you are standing on, and you see the hope fade from her eyes as she witnesses you for what you have become. There is some quick discussion (far out of your earshot) among the reamining attackers and they begin their retreat.

The battle below continues between the creatures and the leaderless goblinoids. You have time to gather your wits and tend to your companions, who appear to be stirring as well, and eyeing the troll’s corpse with hunger.

Blight takes a look at the horrble disfigurement of his hands and the gaping claw wounds in his chest and drinks one of his healing potions. He immediately begins writhing in pain and soon vomits up the smoking remains of the potion along with chunks of burned flesh. (OOC: Blight now has 3 CLW potions. You can talk to Cray for reimbursement).

(OOC: Please level your characters to 4th (I’lll get accurate xp soon but I’m sure you made it). Your hp will be 33. Everything else should be up to date on the attached character sheets. Feel free to migrate to your preferred sheets, these were easier for me to check all the numbers. I will update the remaining character sheets soon.)

2nd Interlude

The party is able to leave the cave system without further incident. There are signs the hobgoblin lieutenant was present, but he seems to have escaped. With your best tracker ravaged by disease, you decide that the defeat of the priest of the Keeper will have to suffice. You bundle up the remaining supplies and make a crude stretcher for Blight and begin the trip back to the outpost.

You return to the outpost after a few days of travel, to see that it has been reinforced. The earthworks now completely surround it and a small watchtower has been erected. You are greeted with cheers as you display the heads of the goblin rogue and hobgoblin priest. Both heads are promptly placed on pikes on the watchtower. Blight is taken to the aid tent for treatment.

You see that the other adventuring party also met with success. Among the few remaining prisoners is a goblin covered in blue fur, dressed as though of some importance. Archon is not present and the present leader (Gurad Enthel) is awaiting his return to begin interrogation.

If you’d like to buy or sell, let me know what you’d like. There is a 100gp limit on items and you are restricted to what the clan Hoack druids could produce, or what limited stocks were captured with this outpost and still remain.

The other adventuring party may be willing to buy/trade with you.

Chevim Tuar (who performed at the festival) has mastered the ability to Identify items. He does have a supply of pearls and is willing to identify items for “cost” (100gp). He may also be willing to purchase weapons (especially a new rapier). Paige Nalis will assist in healing Blight, and he should recover by morning with her help. She is looking for a better set of armor than her current hide set. Stump the Goliath is bragging about his new spear. He “wrested it from the hands of a water-ogre” and proceeded to slay the beast with it. He may be interested in equipment of his size. Samdon Tuar is happily demonstrating his new conjurations. He would probably be interested in scrolls he does not yet possess. He also has a crystal that was in the possession of the blue goblin that he is willing to trade/sell (he is convinced it is quite valuable and expects 4000gp worth of trade though).

Here are your possessions if you need an update. You were able to refill ammunition from the outpost’s stocks. (I made Rayburn and William buy a waterskin which I didn’t have listed before). If you have any questions about anything let me know. I don’t think I’m missing anything. If someone in the group wants to put together a plan to distribute the loot, I’m sure it would be appreciated.

1st Interlude

Somehow nobody died. Everyone got exactly 1000 XP, so everyone except Blight gains a level.

During the remainder of the return trip, Rayburn deciphers the scrolls you have found and, you appraise the various items you acquired.

Even without a merchant’s eye, you can determine that both longswords (the goblin’s and the purple-hued one from the dwarven skeleton) are of masterwork quality. Additionally, the rapier you found in the rat hole is of master craftsmanship. It bears the mark of House Cannaith forges, so the wererat probably wasn’t a local. Blight comments that the breastplate is suprisingling well made and easy to move in for such heavy armor.

You return to the ruined keep to see that everyone has packed up and left. The acolyte remaining at the shrine directs you to Breeder’s Hill where Archon and the clans that followed him have taken the hobgoblin camp. He gives you enough food from the remaining offerings to make the journey.

I deducted 4 days of rations, assuming you held off and ate at the shrine the fifth day. That makes everyone out of rations except Javrem (10 days), Blight (1 day), and William (5 days, he shared one days’ with Joe).

Havrim – MW Purple Longsword Joe – “Tooth” Rayburn – Potions (Hide from Undead, Mage Armor) Scroll (Summon Swarm, Bull’s Strength) Scroll (Chill Touch, Hold Portal) Ring (Wererat) Cray – MW Thieves’ Tools MW Longsword (from Goblin) 2 Warg skins (he skinned em) Blight – 2 Scarab Shells MW Breastplate Pouch of coins (rats) Pouch of coins and moonstone (goblins) [while the silver and copper are a mix of Thrane, Aundair and Breland mints, the gold coins appear Dwarvish]

Unaccounted for: MW Rapier (rat hole) Small Light Crossbow (goblin) 2 goblin potions (they are labeled in goblin “healing”) MW manacles (goblin)

Fee free to move stuff around the party. You will most likely be able to barter for weapons and armor at the camp, but choice may be limited.

There are some Clan Nalis folk at the camp, but if anyone from Clan Daran wants to stop home, it’ll take an extra day (home-cooking so don’t worry about rations, etc.).

Also, for hp I’m handling it differently. Everyone will get average hp rounded up each level after the first.

D12 = 7 D10 = 6 D8 = 5 D6 = 4 D4 = 3 adding CON as normal.

If you have any purchases you’d like to make or questions for npcs, if you get any to me ahead of time, I’ll make sure I have the item availability defined or answers for you at the beginning of the next session.

The acolyte does tell you that the other group (the went hunting the ghouls) arrived a day before you and they had something to deliver to Clan Nalis before they headed to the Archon’s camp. He didn’t get a good look at it but he thinks it was a large egg.

On the evening you head out from the shrine, you see a rare sight. On of the surviving dire bats is backlit against the twilight sky and an even larger silver form swoops down and plucks it from the sky. You’ve heard rumors of a dragon living in the mountains to the south, and you may have just witnessed it. The acolyte takes it as a good omen for your journey (it being a silver dragon after all).

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
