The year-long tour in Fort Bones was busy, but mostly uneventful. The group was employed as mounted scouts and were able to increase the patrol range of the fort extensively. Being undead, they were avoided by most wildlife and never encountered any raiding parties so there were few challenges apart from one mission.
A scout returned from an ambushed patrol claiming a wizard had attacked and killed the rest of his squad. The description of a the perpetrator matched a lord’s son Vorranu ir’Sarr, a known necromancer. The captain of the fort requested that he be brought back alive, to stand trial.
The group was forced to engage a maddened raptor, a crystalline construct from the mournland, and a band of druid-led halflings before reaching the wizard’s ruin. The wizard locked the door of the ruined tower he was occupying, but Blight managed to climb the wall and engage him quickly. The rest of the group spent time either bashing down the door or dealing with the wizard’s flesh golem servant. Although the wizard tried repeatedly the command, disable or paralyze Blight, he finally was grappled and succumbed to Blight’s ghoul paralysis ability. The return trip to the fort was uninterrupted due to the groups (and their mounts) lack of normal mortal needs such as sleep or rest, and the party returned their prisoner without incident.
